Throwback

If you knew how old my kids are, you'd probably think it's sad that my kids have never been rollerskating before.  Luckily someone invited us to a rollerskating birthday party this morning, and BFJ and I found that Skate City has not changed in twenty years.  I think some of the laces on these skates may be that old, too!

We were amazed how well The Bruise did, here he is out in the middle by himself.

I haven't meant to be so neglectful of my blog.  I like to blog, and I love reading your comments.  However, everyone in my house has been sick at least two separate times in the past two weeks.  It has not been fun.  Also, I spent two hours last night listening to a "half-hour long" presentation on what is apparently the world's best vacuum.  The kids thoroughly enjoyed that, though, and what else is Friday night for but fun family time.  At ten o'clock, I finally had to step out and put the kids to bed.  The Bruise went down crying between sobs, "...but I didn't get to see the last tool on the Blue Max."

  2. Only 2 hours? I had to endure a 3-HOUR long one last fall. Never again, no matter who the friend is that needs one more presentation to get her free accessory. No way.

Haven't been rollerskating in years--far too many to mention! DD actually did some competing when she was 7, but eventually dropped it. Wonder how long it's been since she went? I'll have to ask her.

  3. I hope the sick bug has left your house finally!

I used to love skating parties when I was little. I must have had a skating birthday party several years in a row. It looks like you had a blast!

garden panos from 2023

Last year, I made some effort (not thoroughly successful) to capture state-of-the-garden pictures every month, including panoramas stitched together on Photoshop, in order to get the whole view of what's happening.  So here's a little recap of the garden in 2023! early March April May June August It appears that I missed July, and either didn't take or didn't save this project in September, although we didn't have a killing frost very late into the season - we were still harvesting a few things in October.  As much as I loved the lettuce that was growing in the tunnel, and getting an early start on a few things, I'm not a fan of plastic anywhere, especially in my garden, so I am looking at options - cold boxes with old windows, etc.  I'm planning to start my 2024 garden this month - pea planting, planning, and seed starting in March!  What are you planting?

Night

Thank goodness my parents moved last year and sent this book my way. Otherwise, I would have just the first line running through my head forever!

Spring Means Baseball!

I've had this idea for a knitting pattern in my head and it's finally come to fruition!  I am still polishing up the pattern, but here's a quick peak:  PS:  There's more than one size and this one is too big for me but it was the only one I had "stitched up."
