New Pattern - the Addison Hat!

I've been knitting like crazy but can't show you much - samples that are secret until they are published, and presents that are secret until Christmas.  I've been wanting to show you all the fun but I just can't yet!  But finally, a little something for you.  It's been a while since I've had the inspiration and time to put together my own pattern.  I'm so excited about this hat!  I hope you like it too...

I've been teaching the beginning knitting class at my local yarn shop and approached the owner about a new pattern to teach - the last one was cute but has been on the schedule for a year or more.  She requested slipped stitch colorwork and I thought that was a great suggestion.  It's a little slouchy to keep you extra warm, not to mention stylish.  An i-cord is woven through the eyelets around the bottom allowing you to adjust the size, and finishes with a bow in the back.  My sister was in town this week so I took the opportunity to catch one of my favorite models!

I've also knit up some cabled mittens but not sure what I'm going to do with that pattern just yet.  I hope to have the Addison Hat pattern published within the next seven days - I'll let you know!

Pattern:  Addison Hat
Size:  S/M, L
Yarn:  Cascade 220 in Vermeer Blue (9419),  Vandyke Brown (7822), and Beige (8021)

garden panos from 2023

Last year, I made some effort (not thoroughly successful) to capture state-of-the-garden pictures every month, including panoramas stitched together on Photoshop, in order to get the whole view of what's happening.  So here's a little recap of the garden in 2023! early March April May June August It appears that I missed July, and either didn't take or didn't save this project in September, although we didn't have a killing frost very late into the season - we were still harvesting a few things in October.  As much as I loved the lettuce that was growing in the tunnel, and getting an early start on a few things, I'm not a fan of plastic anywhere, especially in my garden, so I am looking at options - cold boxes with old windows, etc.  I'm planning to start my 2024 garden this month - pea planting, planning, and seed starting in March!  What are you planting?

Thankfulness, 2023 edition
